What are ‘cookies’ and how are they used on PathXL.com?
Cookies are small files which are stored on a user's computer. They are designed to hold a modest amount of data specific to a particular client and website, and can be accessed either by the web server or the client computer. This allows the server to deliver a page tailored to a particular user, or the page itself can contain some script which is aware of the data in the cookie and so is able to carry information from one visit to the website (or related site) to the next.
Session cookies are used to ensure that you are recognised when you move from page to page within our site and that any information you have entered is remembered. These session cookies reside on the server for the duration of your visit, and are erased once you exit your web browser.
Anonymous analytics cookies
Each time a user visits our website, Google Analytics web software creates an anonymous analytics cookie, which can tell us if you are a new or returning visitor to the site. This allows us to compile reports on how many users visit our website, and how often. These cookies are used for statistical purposes only and cannot be used to identify individuals.
